IVC: Strengthening quality control on cocoa and cashews in ECOWAS

West African Ministers of Industry and Agriculture, adopted on April 22 in Abidjan, six texts related to regional quality infrastructure for industrial development of cocoa and cashew, reports Abidjan.net . This is the Quality Community Council (CCQ), the Community Committee for technical regulation (CCRT), the Regional Accreditation System (RAS), the Community Committee for Conformity Assessment (ACCA), the Committee Community metrology (CCM) and the quality of regional agency (Ecowaq).
According to the Ivorian Minister of Industry, Jean-Claude Brou, these structures enable the effective implementation of the activities defined in the framework of regional policy of the quality of ECOWAS, Ecoqual.
'' By adopting the mode of operation of these structures, we give the ECOWAS Commission technical instruments necessary for the implementation of common quality policy , '' said Jean-Claude Brou.
Note that the meeting of ECOWAS in Abidjan has had the support of technical and financial partners including the European Union (EU), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the African Accreditation Cooperation ( AFRAC), the German Agency for Metrology (PTB) and the African Electrotechnical standardization Commission (AFSEC).
